La Danse, the downtown Nashville nightclub near where a shooting broke out early Sunday morning, announced Tuesday that it is closing effective immediately.

The announcement came two days after more than 60 shots were fired near the Rosa L. Parks and Commerce Street area, leaving three people injured.

Following the shooting, Metro Nashville police said officers have increased patrols around the corridor and added a SkyCop camera trailer to monitor the area.

“This police department and our city will not tolerate the violence displayed Sunday morning,” Metro Police Chief John Drake said. He added that the Central Precinct and Entertainment District Unit are focused on keeping downtown safe and responding quickly to problems.

Police said detectives are actively following strong leads in the investigation.
