Hendersonville is getting a major boost for its road network after a regional transportation group signed off on funding for six local projects.
The City of Hendersonville announced that the Greater Regional Nashville Council and the Transportation Policy Board approved federal grant funding for all six projects the city submitted. The grants total roughly $75 million, covering 80 percent of the projects’ combined estimated cost of $93.5 million. Hendersonville will fund the remaining 20 percent.
The first round of funding, worth about $11 million, will go mainly toward pre-construction work across all six projects. Additional money for the construction phases will follow once design, engineering, and right-of-way acquisition are complete.
City officials credited long-term planning for the win. In a social media release, the city pointed to its ten-year transportation and capital improvement plan, adopted in January 2025, which ranked 36 high-priority projects with support from the Board of Mayor and Alderman. That plan laid the groundwork for the city’s successful grant submissions.
The six approved projects include:
Widening and curve corrections on Center Point Road between Mansker Farms Boulevard and Hunts Lane
Turn lanes, sidewalks, and safety upgrades near Indian Lake Road school zones between Main Street and Crosby Drive
Reconstruction of roughly one mile of West Main Street from Imperial Boulevard to Sanders Ferry, including medians and underground utility work
Safety and circulation improvements at the Sanders Ferry and Imperial Boulevard intersection
Widening and circulation upgrades near the Innsbrooke Avenue and Dayflower Drive intersections
A new roundabout at Rockland Road and Imperial Boulevard
The projects are expected to roll out in phases as design and engineering work moves forward, with construction funding to follow.
