A Nashville teenager has been arrested nearly two years after a deadly shooting outside a nightclub that left one man dead and another critically injured, police said.
According to Metro Nashville Police, Edgar Garcia-Soto, now 19, was taken into custody at his home and booked on multiple juvenile petitions tied to the September 2024 shooting outside Bucanas Night Club on Nolensville Pike. He faces charges including homicide and attempted homicide and was 17 at the time of the incident.
Investigators said the shooting happened when a group of people were leaving the club and a vehicle pulled up beside them in the parking lot. Several individuals got out and opened fire on the group. Eighteen-year-old Yasser Paz was killed, and 20-year-old Kyaw Naing was critically injured. Two other people who were with them were not hurt.
Police said Garcia-Soto was arrested by detectives with the TITANS Unit, which focuses on serious violent crimes and repeat offenders. Authorities also said more arrests could happen as the investigation continues and other suspects are identified.
Garcia-Soto is being held in juvenile court proceedings as the case moves forward.
