A Tennessee court is set to take up several motions Wednesday afternoon for Dalton Eatherly, the controversial livestreamer known online as “Chud the Builder,” who is facing an attempted murder charge after a shooting outside the Montgomery County Courthouse in Clarksville last month.
The 1 p.m. hearing in Montgomery County Circuit Court will cover a motion for bond reduction, approval of a bail source, a bonding company’s request to post bond in excess, and a motion for the return of property.
Eatherly’s legal team is arguing he deserves a lower bond for several reasons. They point out he has no prior criminal convictions, has a child living near Clarksville, has family in the area, and operates a local construction business. His attorneys also contend he does not pose a danger to the public.
Eatherly is also requesting the return of a vehicle seized during his May arrest.
He is currently held in the Montgomery County Jail on a $1 million bond, reduced from an original $1.25 million set shortly after his arrest.
Eatherly is facing a separate set of charges in Nashville as well. A Davidson County court met Wednesday morning to address a state motion to revoke or increase his $1,000 bond on a theft charge, after court documents show he was arrested twice while already out on bond in that case. The Nashville charges stem from a May incident at a downtown steakhouse where Eatherly allegedly refused to pay a $371 tab after being asked to stop livestreaming inside the restaurant.
