La Vergne police are asking residents to stay away from the intersection of Waldron Road and Centrepoint Drive after a shooting was reported Tuesday morning.

The call came in around 11 a.m., prompting officers, detectives, and additional first responders to flood the area. The La Vergne Police Department confirmed that extra resources have been brought in to secure the scene, collect evidence, and keep the public safe.

“The safety of our community remains our top priority,” LVPD said in a statement. Officers are actively working to piece together what happened and determine what steps need to be taken as the investigation moves forward.

Anyone who was near the area around the time of the incident is asked to come forward. Police are specifically looking for witnesses, surveillance footage, or any other details that could help with the case. Tips can be submitted directly to the La Vergne Police Department.

The investigation remains active and ongoing. Authorities say more information will be released as it becomes available.
