A man accused of threatening to detonate a bomb at the construction site of Nashville’s new Nissan Stadium has been arrested in Alabama, according to Metro Nashville Police.

Investigators say 47-year-old Marque Henderson, of Robertson County, was taken into custody in Lawrence County, Alabama, after detectives tracked him down and requested assistance from local law enforcement.

Police said Henderson worked for a subcontractor involved with the stadium project. Authorities allege he sent a threatening text message Tuesday night warning that a bomb would explode at the construction site between 6 a.m. and noon the following day.

According to investigators, a manager with Turner Construction Company received the message from someone claiming to be from Saudi Arabia. The text allegedly warned that workers at the site would be targeted in the explosion.

Out of caution, the construction site was temporarily shut down while Metro Nashville Police investigated the threat. Authorities later determined the threat was not credible.

Henderson is now facing charges of threatening to commit an act of mass violence and making a false report of an emergency.

The investigation remains ongoing.
