6 Year Old Child Dies After Falling From Madison Apartment Window

Metro Nashville Police are investigating after a 6-year-old child died Tuesday night following a fall from an apartment window in Madison.

According to police, officers responded around 8:40 p.m. to the 200 Webster Apartments on East Webster Street after a caller discovered the child on the ground outside the building. Investigators said the child fell approximately 81 feet from the apartment unit.

The child was rushed to a nearby hospital, where they were later pronounced dead.

Officers initially believed the child may have fallen from a balcony, but investigators later confirmed the fall happened from a window. Police are still working to determine exactly what led up to the incident.

The investigation remains ongoing.
