A tragic incident occurred Thursday night on Anderson Road in Antioch, where a high-speed street race led to a fatal crash involving a home. Around 8:30 p.m., police observed two vehicles racing before one lost control, causing a three-car collision at Anderson Road and Kinwood Drive. The other vehicle veered off the road, striking a parked car and a light pole before crashing into a neighbor’s garage. The 18-year-old driver died at the scene, and two 17-year-old passengers were hospitalized.

Neighbors reported frequent street racing activities in the area, particularly on weekends. Amer Ameen, a local resident, described hearing the crash from inside his home and finding the car embedded in his neighbor’s garage. He noted that such incidents are becoming increasingly common.

In response to the growing problem, the Metro Nashville Police Department has implemented street racing initiatives, utilizing social media to identify meet-ups and deploying helicopters for aerial surveillance. These efforts have led to multiple arrests and traffic stops over the past year.
