La Vergne police are investigating after a 21-year-old woman was found dead in a McDonald’s parking lot on Murfreesboro Road. Jocelynn Krauss had been reported missing on Tuesday when she did not return home from work.

Officers arrived at the scene shortly after an employee at that McDonald’s called 911 about a person found in a vehicle. Detectives and crime scene investigators from La Vergne responded along with the Rutherford County Medical Examiner.

The site has been declared an active crime scene. The police department is asking residents to avoid the area to allow the investigation to proceed without interference.

Authorities have not yet released information about cause of death or any suspects. The investigation remains ongoing and more details are expected as evidence develops.
