A 50-year-old Lewisburg resident, David Theopolis Hamilton, has been arrested and charged with criminal homicide following a deadly robbery at a gas station on Mooresville Highway. The incident occurred around 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20, when officers discovered 34-year-old clerk Paresh “Prince” Patel fatally shot inside the store.

Surveillance footage reveals the suspect purchasing a lottery ticket before brandishing a firearm and demanding money from Patel. After receiving cash, the suspect shot Patel, left the store, then returned to fire a second shot.

Using surveillance and license plate reader data, authorities identified Hamilton, who has a prior felony record. He was apprehended at the Budget Inn in Pulaski and is currently held without bond at the Marshall County Jail.

Additional charges may be forthcoming as the investigation continues.
