La Vergne, TN — Local crews are working to clean up a large oil spill at an auto repair shop following a fire that broke out this Thursday, June 26, 2025.

Fire investigators arrived to find an active blaze inside the shop. In the chaos, a significant amount of oil leaked from damaged equipment and pooled on the floor. Emergency teams immediately shifted focus to contain the spill and prevent it from seeping into local storm drains or nearby waterways.

Hazmat crews deployed absorbent materials and vacuum trucks to safely remove the oil. Meanwhile, firefighters remained on site, tackling remaining flames and hot spots to fully extinguish the fire. No injuries have been reported.

At this stage, officials have not released details on the fire’s origin. Testing is ongoing to determine whether the involved fluids could impact groundwater or local streams. The auto shop remains closed until cleanup and fire investigation conclude.

We’ll update this story as more information becomes available.
