A woman wanted for first degree murder in Maryland may be hiding in the Nashville area, and police are asking the public for help tracking her down.
Metro Nashville Police Department confirmed it was contacted by Montgomery County, Maryland investigators looking for 36-year-old Samantha Raebel, of Phoenix, Arizona. Raebel is a fugitive wanted in connection with a homicide that took place on May 26.
Maryland officers originally responded to a 55-plus residential community for a welfare check and found 67-year-old Hilde Henderson dead inside her home. An autopsy confirmed Henderson’s death was a homicide.
Investigators identified two suspects in Henderson’s death: her own daughter, 29-year-old Vanessa Tjongarero-Henderson, and Raebel, who is Vanessa’s girlfriend. Both women face warrants for first-degree murder.
Raebel is believed to have family ties to Nashville, which is why MNPD was brought into the investigation. Her current whereabouts are unknown.
