La Danse Nightclub caught fire early Monday morning while it was already shut down following its recent closure.

The Nashville Fire Department said crews were called around 4:30 a.m. to 142 Rosa Parks Boulevard after reports of a commercial structure fire. When firefighters arrived, smoke was coming from the building, which houses three separate businesses.

Once inside, crews located a small fire at the rear of La Danse Nightclub. A ladder truck was used to ventilate the roof while firefighters made an interior attack, searched the structure, and worked to extinguish the flames. The fire was quickly brought under control.

Officials confirmed no one was inside the building at the time and no injuries were reported.

An accelerant-detection canine was brought in as part of the early investigation, and officials said the cause of the fire remains under review.

The nightclub had only recently shut down last week following a series of incidents, including a nearby shooting that left one person dead and several others injured. Authorities also noted the business had been connected to more than 500 emergency calls over the past five years.
