Firefighters search for missing station cat Herman Clark

A fire department in Kentucky is offering a reward after their beloved station cat, Herman Clark, went missing. Herman is a long-haired tabby with light green eyes who had been living at Station 2 in Winchester. The fire department has put up a $1,500 reward for anyone who helps bring him home. Herman can be returned to any of the department’s stations, and tips can be called in to 859-744-1587.

According to a post from the department, they have not given up on the search for Herman Clark.  The cat disappeared Friday night, and since then, crews have gone door to door, distributed flyers, and combed through the area trying to track him down.  Herman had been acting as a station cat for the department since August 2023, after he wandered into Station 2.

Photos shared online show Herman lounging on fire trucks, napping through sirens, sneaking drinks from firefighters’ water cups, and even wearing a little uniform.  He has also been known to hop into a fire truck for a ride or chase laser pointers around the station.  The cat has a big following on social media, with over 20,000 Instagram followers and many more fans on Facebook, and his photos often get thousands of likes and comments.

The fire department expressed gratitude for the community’s support, thanking people for their prayers, thoughts, well wishes, and generosity.  They said the whole department hopes for a good outcome.
