Austin Peay State University Mourns the Loss of Football Player William Hardrick

Austin Peay State University (APSU) in Clarksville, Tennessee, is mourning the untimely passing of senior football player William Hardrick, who died Tuesday night.

Hardrick, a native of Adamsville, Alabama, had previously played at Mississippi State and the University of Miami before transferring to APSU. During his high school years at Minor High School in Alabama, he showcased his athleticism as both a wide receiver and defensive back.

APSU Vice President and Director of Athletics Gerald Harrison expressed deep sorrow over Hardrick’s passing, stating, “We are truly saddened by the passing of William Hardrick, a new member of our football program and the Austin Peay family. All of our thoughts and prayers are with the Hardrick family today. We will do everything we can to support his friends, family, and teammates at this time.”

APSU football coach Jeff Faris also shared his condolences, noting, “William Hardrick was an exceptional young man, and our team is heartbroken by his loss. He made everyone around him better and has made a real impact both on and off the field. We lift up the Hardrick family in prayer as we grieve this tragic loss with them.”

At this time, the university has not released further details regarding the circumstances of Hardrick’s death, focusing instead on providing support to his family, friends, and teammates during this difficult period.
