Greenbrier police arrest driver and passenger wanted in multiple counties

In Greenbrier, Tennessee, a routine traffic stop for an expired vehicle registration led to the arrest of two individuals wanted in multiple counties across the region. Chief Joseph Chelini of the Greenbrier Police Department told Smokey Barn News that officers pulled over the vehicle on a Thursday evening, leading to an unexpected discovery that would prompt further legal proceedings  .

During the stop, police identified the driver as Kevin Thomas, who was confirmed to be wanted by authorities in Nashville on charges of aggravated assault  . Meanwhile, the passenger, identified as Alexis Jones, was carrying marijuana and MDMA in her purse. Further checks revealed she was also wanted in Robertson County for failure to appear in court, and had additional warrants pending in Clarksville  .

Both Thomas and Jones were taken into custody and transported to the Robertson County Detention Center in Springfield, Tennessee  . Jones is being held there under a $20,000 bond. Thomas, however, is being held on behalf of another agency and was not officially booked into the Robertson County facility  .

This incident underscores how routine enforcement actions such as traffic stops can lead to the apprehension of individuals with outstanding warrants. It also illustrates collaboration between local news outlets and law enforcement to report such developments accurately. In this case the proactive actions of the Greenbrier Police Department and the assistance of Smokey Barn News helped bring these wanted individuals into custody
