Police Seek Public’s Help Identifying Suspect in Deadly I‑40 Road Rage Shooting

Metro Nashville Police are appealing to the community for assistance identifying a driver linked to a road‑rage shooting that occurred on Interstate 40. Around 2 a.m. on January 12, police say a silver Honda Odyssey minivan—a model believed to be from around 2015—was captured on dashcam footage following another vehicle very closely in the eastbound lanes near the Fesslers Lane exit. The minivan abruptly changed lanes in front of a passing tractor‑trailer and then pulled up alongside the victim’s car before shots were exchanged .

Investigators believe the shots were fired from the minivan, fatally striking 26‑year‑old Uriel Miller of Rutherford County. Miller’s vehicle then crashed into a concrete barrier separating the east‑ and westbound lanes. Emergency personnel pronounced him dead at the scene. Metro Police recovered a gun from the vehicle, and homicide detectives have taken over the investigation, characterizing the suspect as dangerous.

In their appeal to the public, Metro Police released details about the suspect’s vehicle and urged anyone with information to come forward. They specifically highlighted the Honda Odyssey—silver in color and likely a mid‑2010s model—and emphasized that identifying the owner or driver will be a critical step in their probe. Community tips are being directed to Crime Stoppers via phone.

According to more recent coverage, investigators have now made the request public to further encourage tips and help track down the person responsible. The aim is to locate the driver quickly, given that their actions resulted in a homicide on a major interstate. Community cooperation remains vital for resolving the case .
