Man Fatally Shot by Metro Officer Near Hermitage Avenue

A man is dead after being shot by a Metro Nashville Police officer Monday morning near Hermitage Avenue and Lea Avenue.

According to police, the man pulled out a pistol and began approaching the officer. The officer fired, striking the man. He was taken to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

The officer was not hurt.
