Three teenage girls were arrested early Sunday morning after fleeing from police during an illegal street racing meetup in Nashville. The incident occurred around 2:00 a.m. when the Metro Nashville Police Department’s aviation unit observed a white Ford Mustang performing dangerous driving stunts in a parking lot on Trousdale Drive.
Officers attempted to initiate traffic stops, but the Mustang fled both attempts before stopping at a nearby gas station. The driver, 19-year-old Melanie Serrano Sanabria, and her passengers, 18-year-old Gabriela Lopez-Naranjo and 19-year-old Camila Paolini-Jerez, were taken into custody without further incident.
Sanabria faces multiple charges, including inciting a riot, driving without a license, unlawful possession of alcohol, and two counts of evading arrest. Lopez-Naranjo and Paolini-Jerez are charged with inciting a riot and unlawful possession of alcohol. Additionally, Paolini-Jerez had an outstanding domestic assault charge from May 2024.
The arrests are part of ongoing efforts by the Metro Nashville Police Department to combat illegal street racing and related dangerous activities in the area.
