A 36-year-old woman was arrested after allegedly impersonating a nurse to steal medicine from Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville. According to the arrest affidavit, Marissa Denton entered the Critical Care Unit on the hospital’s sixth floor on September 15, wearing blue scrubs and a face mask to appear as hospital staff.

The affidavit states that she took 100 mL of Propofol, an anesthetic drug, from a patient’s room. Denton was charged with impersonating a licensed professional and theft under $1,000. Hospital security requires authorized badges or staff approval to access restricted areas, which she bypassed through deception.

Authorities are investigating, and the case highlights the importance of security protocols in healthcare facilities.
