A convicted felon was arrested early Sunday morning after leading police on a chase in a stolen vehicle. The Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) reported that a sergeant observed a Cadillac Escalade, reported stolen from Brentwood, driving recklessly on Dickerson Pike near Hancock Street. When the officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop, the driver, identified as 33-year-old Tyson Oglesby, fled onto Interstate 24.

Oglesby exited the highway onto 4th Avenue and stopped in a parking lot, where undercover detectives were able to block the vehicle. Upon exiting the Escalade, Oglesby resisted arrest but was quickly apprehended. A semi-automatic pistol was found on the driver’s side floorboard of the vehicle.

Oglesby faces multiple charges, including felony auto theft, evading arrest, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He is being held in lieu of a $100,000 bond. His criminal history includes prior convictions for cocaine and firearm offenses in 2020 and 2022.
