A man has been arrested after allegedly stealing an SUV from a Nashville car dealership while armed with a BB gun. Metro Nashville Police’s Robbery Unit was called to Serra Chevrolet on Gallatin Pike North on Wednesday just before 3 p.m. following reports of an armed robbery.

The victim in the case is a sales associate at the dealership. He says the suspect, identified as Austin Trevino, asked to see a black 2025 GMC Yukon and when the associate returned with the keys the suspect was putting personal items into the back seat. Trevino then allegedly pointed a weapon at the associate, demanded the keys, and told him to walk away.

The sales associate complied and fled back into the dealership while Trevino drove off in the vehicle. Police soon located the stolen Yukon and found Trevino at an Exxon station on Broadway. In an interview with officers Trevino admitted taking the vehicle by force but said he did not use a real gun. He said instead that he had a BB gun which police found in the vehicle’s center console.

Further investigation revealed that Trevino had an outstanding extradition warrant for aggravated robbery in Kansas. He is now charged in Davidson County with aggravated robbery with a weapon and as a fugitive from justice.
