Nashville health officials are warning residents about possible measles exposure after two confirmed cases were reported in Middle Tennessee.
The Metro Public Health Department confirmed Nashville’s first measles case of 2026 on July 10. Officials say the infected person was present at seven public locations in Nashville and Madison between July 1 and July 4 while they were infectious.
The locations and times of possible exposure include:
- July 1, 1-5 p.m. – Waxing the City, 1108 Gallatin Ave., Nashville
- July 1, 2-6 p.m. – Goodwill, 2101 Gallatin Pike N., Madison
- July 3, 1-4 p.m. – Swett’s Restaurant, 2725 Clifton Ave., Nashville
- July 3, 3:30-6:30 p.m. – Publix, 1111 Gallatin Ave., Nashville
- July 4, noon-4 p.m. – Dino’s Bar and Grill, 411 Gallatin Ave., Nashville
- July 4, 3-6 p.m. – Limo Peruvian Eatery, 1008 Fatherland St., Nashville
- July 4, 5-7 p.m. – Paul’s Corner, 824 Porter Road, Nashville
The Tennessee Department of Health also reported another confirmed measles case in Middle Tennessee involving a person who had been fully vaccinated. That person’s possible exposure location was:
- June 29-30, 1-5 p.m. – Catfeine Cat Cafe, 517 Carson Lane, Murfreesboro
Officials say both individuals are recovering at home after being exposed to a confirmed measles case outside of Tennessee.
Health officials are asking anyone who visited the listed locations during the specified times to monitor for symptoms, including fever, cough, red or watery eyes, congestion, and a red, spotty rash that often starts on the face and spreads across the body.
Measles is highly contagious and spreads through the air when an infected person speaks, coughs, or sneezes. Officials say people who have previously had measles or received the recommended measles vaccine are likely protected but should still watch for symptoms.
The Metro Public Health Department is encouraging anyone who is not vaccinated against measles to speak with their healthcare provider about receiving the MMR vaccine. Vaccines are available by appointment at:

- Lentz Public Health Center
- Woodbine Public Health Center
