A 10-year-old child was shot Monday in the Burns area of Dickson County, according to the Dickson County Sheriff’s Office.  The shooting is currently under investigation, and authorities say it appears to have been accidental.

Deputies responded to the scene after reports of gunfire and found the child wounded.  The exact circumstances surrounding how the shooting occurred remain unclear at this time.

Officials are now working to piece together what led to the incident.  They have not yet released further details on any suspects, weapons involved, or whether charges will be filed.

As this is a developing story, more information may emerge as investigators continue their work.
