A 25-year-old man named Ever Domingo-Mazariegos was shot and killed in the parking lot of Crestridge Apartments in Nashville on August 29. The Metro Nashville Police Department say a 16-year-old, Juan Acoj-Tecu, and a 26-year-old, Emerson Depaz-Pangan, are accused in connection with this deadly shooting.

According to police reports, Depaz-Pangan got into an argument with Domingo-Mazariegos on the day of the shooting. Later Depaz-Pangan drove Acoj-Tecu to confront the victim. During the confrontation there was an exchange of gunfire between Acoj-Tecu and Domingo-Mazariegos.

Domingo-Mazariegos was taken by private vehicle to General Hospital with multiple gunshot wounds. After initial treatment there he was transferred to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he later died. The teen was also shot in the hand during the shootout and police say he lied about where he was shot when questioned at the hospital.

In terms of legal consequences Acoj-Tecu faces charges in juvenile court including criminal homicide and unlawful gun possession. Depaz-Pangan is charged with facilitation of criminal homicide and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Acoj-Tecu is being held in juvenile detention pending a hearing. Depaz-Pangan is jailed in lieu of a bond amount set at $110,000.
