A midday shooting in Nashville’s Bordeaux neighborhood set off a chaotic chain of events Friday that ended with the victim jumping from a moving ambulance and attempting to carjack a passerby on Brick Church Pike.
Metro Nashville Police Department officers responded to the area of Brick Church Pike near Bordeaux around noon after reports of a shooting. The victim had suffered a gunshot wound to the face. Following the incident, both the victim and the suspected shooter left the scene in separate vehicles. Police tracked down and arrested the suspected shooter on Queens Lane shortly after.
The victim didn’t get far. He crashed his vehicle nearby, and Nashville Fire Department crews were dispatched to the scene with no knowledge that the driver was a gunshot victim. As paramedics loaded him into an ambulance and drove away, the victim jumped out.
Once back on the street, he allegedly tried to carjack someone on Brick Church Pike. When officers arrived, he reportedly attempted to fight them before being taken into custody. He was transported to Skyline Hospital for treatment.
MNPD says additional details are expected to be released later Friday.
