Clarksville Police are searching for a suspect after a deadly shooting Tuesday night near an elementary school.  The victim, identified as 20-year-old Kamren Castro, was shot around 9:30 p.m. at an apartment complex on Ringgold Road and later died at a hospital.

The shooting took place just a block away from Ringgold Elementary.  In response, the school notified parents that it would collaborate closely with law enforcement and move all activities indoors on Wednesday as a precaution.

Residents in the area described seeing police cars and being unsure what was happening.  One local, Angela Roberts, said the proximity of the shooting in her neighborhood felt frightening and emphasized the uncertainty until the suspect is caught.

Authorities believe the shooting was an isolated incident, but the suspect remains at large.  The Clarksville Police Department is urging anyone with information to come forward as they continue investigating.
