A 19-year-old male was wounded during an exchange of gunfire at the Madison Park basketball court on Sunday evening. The Metro Nashville Police Department reported that three people were involved in the shooting. Investigators found a pistol at the scene, suggesting the parties may have fired at one another.

The incident took place just before 6 p.m. on North Dupont Avenue. Officers responded quickly and secured the area while tending to the victim. He was transported to a local hospital before being moved to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for further care.

At this time MNPD has not confirmed whether any arrests have been made in connection with the shooting. The department continues to investigate the circumstances that led to the violence.

Authorities say this is an active and developing case, and they ask anyone with information to come forward. More details will be released as the investigation progresses.
