18 Year Old Arrested in Nashville After Police Pursuit

An 18 year old man is facing a long list of charges after Metro police caught up with him during a traffic stop Wednesday night.

Police say Brandon Grigsby was wanted on six outstanding warrants, many tied to domestic violence incidents earlier this year. Two of the most serious charges stem from allegations that he assaulted his pregnant girlfriend in May, choking and kicking her before attempting to stab her.

Grigsby was also accused of firing shots into the air and threatening to shoot up the home afterward. Another case in June involved accusations that he threw bleach into a family member’s eyes. Both cases were initially dismissed because witnesses didn’t appear in court, but the warrants remained.

Detectives tracked him to his mother’s home in Nashville and saw him leave in a BMW driven by a 16-year-old. When officers tried to stop the car, the driver attempted to run but was quickly caught. Inside the car, police found a pistol, marijuana, and Grigsby’s ID in a backpack.

Grigsby is now facing the original charges along with new counts of felony weapon possession and marijuana possession. The 16-year-old driver was charged with felony evading arrest in juvenile court.
