A Metro Nashville Public Schools teacher has been arrested on a child sexual exploitation charge following an investigation by the Metro Nashville Police Department. The accused is 28-year-old Alexander Donahoe, who is employed at Jere Baxter Middle School in Nashville, Tennessee. Authorities say he was arrested Wednesday night as a result of actions by the MNPD’s Internet Crimes Against Children Unit.

The investigation began in March when the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children reported that an IP address in Nashville had been used to conduct reverse image searches for sexual images of minors. Through subpoenas to the internet service provider, police traced the activity back to Donahoe as the subscriber. MNPD asserts that this evidence linked him to the illicit searches.

During a search of Donahoe’s residence, officers executed a search warrant and seized his electronic devices. According to reports, Donahoe allegedly admitted to possessing sexual images of minors. He has been formally charged with sexual exploitation of a minor, for a case involving 50 items or fewer.

Donahoe is currently held in jail under a $100,000 bond. Authorities have reached out to Metro Nashville Public Schools for comment on the situation, but no response has yet been made public.
