In the early pre-dawn hours of Tuesday, a fatal head-on collision left one person dead on Bell Road in Nashville. According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, the crash occurred at approximately 4 a.m. when a Nissan Rogue veered across the double yellow line and collided with a northbound GMC Terrain.

The driver of the Rogue has been identified as 26-year-old Kyree Hollins from Antioch. He was pronounced dead at the scene.  The driver of the GMC Terrain survived the crash and was transported to a nearby hospital; fortunately, their injuries are not considered life threatening.

As part of the ongoing investigation, police noted that the focus will include checking whether impairment played any role in the wreck. The Medical Examiner’s Office will carry out toxicology testing as part of that process.

The Metro Nashville Police Department continues to look into all the circumstances surrounding the collision, including what caused the Rogue to cross into oncoming traffic. The crash has prompted renewed concerns about nighttime driving safety, road markings, and whether more preventive measures might reduce similar incidents in the future.
