Woman charged in fatal hit-and-run crash

A woman has been charged after a fatal hit-and-run in Nashville, according to Metro Nashville Police. The driver surrendered to police on Friday night. The crash took place earlier this week on Old Hickory Boulevard.

Investigators say 33-year-old James Sellars of Hendersonville was riding a motorcycle when he was stopped at a red light. He was struck from behind by the car driven by 23-year-old Jordyn Walker. After being pushed into the intersection by that impact he hit a traffic light pole and died at the scene.

Police located Walker’s vehicle a day after the crash in the 3400 block of Lebanon Pike. She was arrested and has since been booked into jail under an $81,000 bond.

The investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue to gather details about the events leading up to the collision. No additional information has yet been released about possible contributing factors such as speed or impairment.
