On Tuesday morning around 9:30 a.m., Metro Nashville Police Department officers responded to reports of a shooting at the 300 Hickory Apartment Homes on Hickory Hollow Place in Antioch. Upon arrival, they discovered a man suffering from a gunshot wound near building D. The victim was swiftly transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for treatment and his current condition has not been released.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the shooting resulted from an argument between two men in the breezeway of building D. The altercation escalated until one of the individuals produced a firearm and shot the other man.

After the shooting, the alleged shooter fled the scene. Witnesses reported that he left the area driving away in an older, tan-colored Nissan. In response to the incident, Vanderbilt Medical Center activated a brief lockdown, following protocol for the arrival of a gunshot victim.

This is an ongoing investigation. Metro Nashville police are continuing to gather details, and updates will be provided as new information becomes available.
