Murfreesboro hotel searched for murder, kidnapping suspect

Published on

Law enforcement officers in Murfreesboro conducted an extensive search at the Towneplace by Marriott hotel, which was still under construction, after license plate reader cameras detected a stolen vehicle linked to a suspect wanted for murder and kidnapping in North Carolina. The stolen car had been located near the hotel, prompting authorities to respond swiftly to the scene on Roby Corlew Lane. Residents were advised to avoid the area while the investigation was underway.

Officers searched the site methodically, clearing each floor of the hotel. Teams including the Special Operations Unit and detectives participated in the search. Meanwhile, workers who had been evacuated from the construction site were later permitted to resume their duties once the area was deemed safe.

Despite the thorough search, the authorities were unable to locate the suspect. The police confirmed that the individual believed to be involved in the murder and kidnapping had not been found inside the premises. As of this update, law enforcement efforts continue as the investigation presses forward.

This incident highlights the effectiveness of automated surveillance tools such as license plate readers in tracking criminal suspects. However, it also shows the challenges involved in search operations, especially at sites like buildings under construction with multiple hiding places. The investigation is ongoing and authorities remain on alert for any leads.
