Deadly Shooting Leaves Woman Dead Just Blocks from Madison Police Station

Late Monday morning, Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) officers responded to a scene in Madison, where a woman was found critically injured inside a Cadillac. The vehicle had come to rest in the wrong lane of traffic at the intersection of Myatt Drive and Anderson Lane directly in front of the Madison Precinct station. Emergency responders quickly transported her to a nearby hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

According to MNPD, the shooting took place during a domestic dispute at a home on the 300 block of Scalf Drive located less than a half-mile from the precinct station. Law enforcement reports suggest the victim and another woman were involved in an argument inside the house before the victim drove off in the Cadillac. It remains unclear what provoked the confrontation or if any prior history was involved.

Upon arrival, homicide detectives took over the investigation. Authorities have not released the identity of the woman, citing respect for family and the ongoing nature of the investigation. MNPD has also not indicated whether any arrests have been made or whether warrants are expected in connection with the shooting.

Traffic disruptions were reported briefly, as two lanes of Myatt Drive near Anderson Lane were blocked off while officials processed the scene. MNPD reopened the lanes after completing their initial on-site work. The area including the nearby Thornton’s gas station has resumed normal activity as investigators continue their work.
