A tragic incident occurred early Sunday morning in Nashville, resulting in the deaths of a woman and her husband in what police are investigating as an apparent murder-suicide.
At approximately 8:30 a.m., officers from the Metro Nashville Police Department responded to a condominium in the 100 block of 31st Avenue North following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered 30-year-old Amina Pierce and her 46-year-old husband, Steven Pierce, both deceased from gunshot wounds.
Investigators have determined that the couple had been experiencing marital and financial difficulties, which had led to recent arguments. Evidence at the scene, including a revolver found near Steven Pierce, supports the theory that he fatally shot his wife before turning the weapon on himself. The Domestic Violence Division of the police department had no prior involvement with the couple.
This incident marks the latest in a series of domestic-related tragedies in the Nashville area. In July 2024, a similar murder-suicide occurred at the Vintage Century Farms Apartments on Cane Ridge Parkway, where a husband fatally shot his wife before taking his own life. The couple had no known history of domestic violence, and the incident shocked the Antioch community .
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding these events to understand the underlying causes and prevent future tragedies.
