Pulaski Elementary School teacher Courtney Jones and her student, Jaylee Huddleston, have shared a special bond over the past three years, both in the classroom and through their mutual love of music. As Jaylee prepares to transition to middle school, Mrs. Jones wanted to create a memorable send-off. Knowing Jaylee’s admiration for country music star Jelly Roll, she surprised her with tickets to see him perform at the Railbird Festival in Lexington.
The surprise didn’t end there. After their story gained attention, Jelly Roll’s team reached out and invited them backstage for a personal meet-and-greet. Jaylee received VIP treatment, including autographed memorabilia and a heartfelt prayer from the artist himself. The experience was unforgettable, with Jaylee even becoming a fan favorite among concertgoers.
Mrs. Jones reflected on the day, saying, “She was just living her best life, and I was just along for the ride.” This touching story highlights the profound impact of thoughtful gestures and the lasting connections between teachers and their students.
