Three Teens Charged Following Porch Shooting in East Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Dec. 21, 2025) — An East Nashville resident narrowly avoided being shot on his porch Thursday evening while picking up a pizza delivery, and three teenagers have since been charged in connection with the incident and related crimes.

The resident, who asked not to be named, was at his North 9th Street home with friends around 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 18 when he stepped outside to retrieve a delivered pizza and saw a white Mercedes parked nearby. He also noticed someone crouched near a neighbor’s Chevrolet Corvette just before two gunshots rang out. The man immediately retreated back inside the house. No one was struck by gunfire.

Friends of the resident called 911 after hearing the shots. Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) officers responded within minutes.

Police later spotted the white Mercedes, which had been reported stolen, traveling at more than 120 mph on Briley Parkway. Officers followed the vehicle to an apartment complex on Charlotte Pike, where the three teenagers were found inside a unit with an AR-15 rifle.

According to MNPD, the group had been involved in a series of vehicle break-ins in the area over the previous 48 hours, law enforcement sources said.

All three teens have been charged with vehicle theft and possession of burglary tools. In addition, the 17-year-old faces a juvenile handgun possession charge, and the 18-year-old is charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Police say additional charges may be forthcoming.
