Double Shooting on Memorial Day Sparks Safety Fears in Madison

A double shooting at Cedar Hill Park in Madison on Memorial Day has sparked renewed concerns about safety among Nashville residents. The incident occurred during a party when an argument escalated into gunfire, injuring two teenagers. One girl was shot in the leg, while another sustained injuries to her arm and torso. Fortunately, both victims’ injuries are non-life-threatening.

This shooting marks the second such incident at the park in just over three weeks. In response, Metro Parks has increased police patrols, installed surveillance cameras, and added automatic gates to enhance security. Despite these measures, residents like Roslyn Davis express ongoing concerns. “It’s scary,” Davis remarked. “We just don’t feel safe in this park because of the crime.” She emphasized the desire for a peaceful environment where individuals can relax without fear.

The Metro Nashville Police Department continues to investigate the shooting. Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.
