A man was hospitalized after being shot in the chest in the Bellshire area, according to Metro Nashville Police.

Officers responded to a residence on Chesapeake Drive and found an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to TriStar Skyline Medical Center, where he was reported to be alive.

Police have not released information about possible suspects or a motive. The investigation remains ongoing.
